SuperMule's PSA and more!

Of course, with a new excitement coming of the trip to Metropolis, IL, Superman Celebration and a chance to meet THE Superman of our day, BRANDON ROUTH!, Muley has decided that his SuperMule persona needed to start shining a bit more.

Muley has a few more PSA announcements on the way, but with the baby across the street getting nearer and nearer TO the street, he felt it was a proper time to share this advice with everyone...much to my disdain due to fear of heights...

And, don't forget to get your next copy of "Jetta: Tales of the Toshigawa - Full Circle" today!  Yep, your's truly iz teh editur of the book!  This issue, second to the last of the Tales of the Toshigawa, answers a LOT of questions along the way, closes some open ended situations, and brings everything...well, FULL CIRCLE...for the finale in the next issue! Stormy Weather

So, with May 1, 2011, being  the first Sunday of the month and time for Muley's sermon at First Congregational Church, he told a message about storms because (as anyone knows right now) we have had some terrible storms in the Mid-South area, mainly floods.  Even our location has become a new Flood Zone which it wasn't before.

Many folks want to see what the flooded Memphis areas look like, and you can see if you check out our Storm Photo Album by clicking here.

So, the sound is (again) hard to hear and we've thus put the script on Muley's Facebook Notes, which you can read here.

And now, on to the video:

Want to hear the song by Vestal Goodman where the sermon comes from?  You can get it for only $.99 at Amazon.com by clicking here.  You can see her perform the song by clicking here.  Want to sing with her?  Now, you can:  Go here to see the lyrics!

Would you like your own book mark?  Well, here you go!

A quick story about storming:  Papa Roy used to tell us as a joke that if we didn't do something just right, he was going to "cloud up and rain all over ya!"

Happy Easter 2011!

Hi, everyone,

We wanted to bring about a simple Happy Easter wish; but, looks like Roy Duck has gotten into a little tiff…

We also wanted to share with you this silly video based on a Muley comic strip from the late 80’s. Now, you can watch the video and then enjoy the original comic strip that caused it to happen!

This comic strip has its roots from way back, and the one you see appeared on Rock 103's website back when they were running the "Funny Pages" as part of their content.  This was a webpage dedicated to comics from Memphis cartoonists, most of whom are members of the Mid-South Cartoonists Association.

You'll also notice the name is different than usual in order to appeal to the adult audience.  Bob Thaves of "Frank and Earnest" once replied to an e-mail that, "...although the comics are good, you will have issues getting the syndicates to accept the title."

Just before the "Funny Pages" were removed from the website, we did change the title back to Muley Comix.

Sunny Days...

Well, it isn't owned or copyrighted by us, but Kev has decided to make a comic strip based on Sesame Street for fun.  This one includes Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus.  Hope you find it fun and funny.  Oh, and do you see the little Easter egg?

In case you didn't get the "Easter egg:"  Big Bird once appeared on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, which is the show they are watching on TV.

But, what has us REALLY excited?  Our good friend, Scott Braun, has a new license plate on his truck!  You'll remember him from last year with the "MULEY" license plate that we drew on and sent to him?  Well, this year he celebrates SuperMule! Check it out!

Happy Birthday, Charlie Chaplin! Kev did some paintings!

Here at Muley's Comix and Stories (yes, that little off-shoot of Kevin L. Williams Productions) would love to send out our happy 122nd birthday wish to Charlie Chaplin...not that he'll be able to see this on his computer or anything.

Still, his comedy has always been inspiring to us, and our appreciation for his life's work is as great today as it was when he was still around.

Completely under-rated, never appreciated enough, we could stand a genius like him in today's world!

Thanks for the laughs, Charlie Chaplin.

KEV HITS THE EASEL!

And we don't know why--it didn't do anything to him; but, he did produce his second ever abstract art piece as seen here.  All paintings are 20x16" and acrylic.
Then, folks will remember a piece he painted back in 2009 called "The Woe and Despair of Charlie Brown," (seen at bottom) will now be interested in the companion piece painted 2011 titled "Lucy's 'Crabby is as Crabby Does" painting.

Muley's Sermon - 4/3/2011 - Being Saved

It's a big church, so the sound has a lot of reverb (or whatever you call it).  The actual script can be found in the notes of Muley's Facebook page.

When Puppeteers Unite!

At the fan-fabulous convention, MidSouth Con, a few weeks back, there was a 10pm panel discussion about Puppetry in Motion on which the very talented and lovely Mary Robinette Kowal and I had a chance for a little fun.  She brought some beautiful puppets from her own collection, and from our studios came a visit from Muley the Mule and Frankie Steinatra.  Here are some images from that panel discussion.  Oh, and never tell puppeteers they only have an hour for a panel discussion--you need at least TWO hours: one for the puppeteers, and one for the puppets.

Enjoy!

"Muley's Talent-less Revue" Show

So, what exactly is "Muley's Talent-Less Revue" all about?  If you click on the logo, you'll certainly find out--maybe more than you wanted to know!

Stay tuned here to see when we'll be performing the program!

The show features the performers creator Kevin L. Williams along with MAW Productions' Martheus Wade and Janet Wade, and artist extraordinaire DaMarco Randle.

A while back, Muley wanted to create a program to showcase talent from around the world.  Being a 6-year-old with no budget to travel around the world to search for these acts, he had to settle for what he could get!
The acts were found with the help of his best pals, Buford the Dog, Roy Duck and Missy Mule.
  • From the lounges of Transyl-Vegas comes Frankie Steinatra.
  • From the Italian city of Dressing comes the TV Theme Song Singing Opera Singer.
  • From the dark depths of Purgatory comes Death, dealing high spirited humor.
  • From the bogs of Louisiana comes the most fearsome favorite of Holiday Spirits, Santa Fish.
We present to you:
MULEY'S TALENT-LESS REVUE
But, with a show that has Muley and Missy working together on it, let's hope they can keep the show going before they go to battle!
A 20-minute spectacle of humor and song, "Muley's Talent-less Revue" is a family pleaser, adults and kids alike will enjoy seeing, singing along, and dancing with Muley the Mule and Friends!
Stay tuned for information about meeting the cast and characters after each show.  You can learn more at www.muleythemule.com

Japan Earthquake Relief

Natural disasters are horrible. Especially something like this. It seems as bad or worse than the Haiti earthquake, but more than likely because there is a nuclear reactor melt down. All we can see is that there is horror galore with the loss of life and property. Nobody should ever have to suffer this.

Another thing we don't want to see people suffer is loss of their money when they are trying to help. Lots of folks lost money to fake charities during the Hurricane Katrina and Haiti efforts. To help our friends (you, the reader) we are offering links to the Better Business Bureau because it is good business to work through charities that will do what they say.

That said, the devastation that has happened in Japan due to the earthquake has burdened our hearts and we wish only the best for the people of that country. We are also concerned about others who will care about what has happened there and who will want to make a donation to the relief efforts that is and will be happening there. To protect you, we have done a little research via the Better Business Bureau hoping to help you better help Japan.

Tips for Giving to Earthquake Relief in Japan
Five Mistakes to Avoid when Giving to a Charity
A List of Trustworthy Charities (with links to the different organizations)

Hopefully, you will be able to find more information that will be helpful in giving help to the Japanese earthquake relief efforts.

And, if you're bound by your political beliefs and refuse to help, please look at this video and at the face of the innocent child. To think of the lives lost in this terrible act of nature and that many of them are children should help you forget what fetters you put upon yourself so you might do something to help the relief efforts.
