Muley Reads: The Three Bears

I seem to recall a time when Goldilocks was the heroine of the story somehow; but, after hearing Muley's reading of the story, I think we all agreed to become #TeamThreeBears!

"Phone-y Money"

A few folks from school were going to see a movie at the discount theater, and invited Muley who rushed home and asked his human caretaker, Jonathan, "Can I go?"

Jonathan asked him, "Do you have any money?"

Muley, remembering he had some cash, ran into his room and looked in his "money spot," finding it empty and then remembering when he loaned it out, Muley goes to make a call and get his money paid back...

Kids Congo - COMMUNITY! - 6/14/2020

What does a gaggle of geese, a congress of baboons, herd of cattle, or flock of birds have in common with a group of people?  They're all a community.

Community is the coming together of people with common interests, common goals, and more.  And as a community, we should all be working harder together to help others less fortunate and remind one another who are doing well that there is plenty to be thankful for!

I hope you enjoy the following video about community!

2020 Commencement Speech by Muley the Mule

While many will be graduating from home this year, Muley (who has ALWAYS wished to be present with a commencement speech at a graduation) took it upon himself - from home! - to create a speech for our 2020 graduates!

We're proud of you all, no matter the age or the grade, and look forward to your future successes.

And thanks to one of Muley's best pals, Anakin Wade, for loaning him the cap and sash for his outfit.

Lean on Me

In 1972, Bill Withers wrote a song that sums up how I feel about my friends, and so the same goes for Muley, obviously.  Please don't feel downtrodden!  You know we're here for you.  Ears to listen, shoulders and hugs.  Lean on me.

In John 16:33, we're told "in this world you'll have troubles, but fear not for I have overcome the world."  Bold words spoken before arrest for crucifixion, yet words of strength.  When you see one set of footprints in the sand, it's then that the Lord carries you.

We may not be able to carry you, but we're here for you.  Much love, friends.

Muley's Kids' Sermon: "There Will Be Trouble" 5/10/2020

In John 16:33, we're told "in this world you'll have troubles, but fear not for I have overcome the world."  Bold words spoken by Jesus just before arrest and crucifixion, yet words of strength.  When you see one set of footprints in the sand, it's then that the Lord carries you.

Social Distancing

I haven't done much in the way of Covid-19 other than a safety video for kids.  But, when an idea strikes, you just gotta do it.  One of the reasons I don't typically like to do "topical" themes is because it puts a 'time' on the story - making it timeless.*

Stuck inside the house with no more school going on, no trips to the play ground, or going anywhere, Muley, Buford, Roy Duck, and Missy are frustrated and bored.  Here's one instance of what happened recently...

*When I was a kid, I saw a documentary about the Wizard of Oz movie from 1939.  One of the people talking were discussing the Jitterbug scene, where the Wicked Witch of the West had 'sent a little bug on ahead' of the flying monkeys to 'take the fight out of' Dorothy and her friends.  Even though it wasn't the same dance as the Jitterbug, and the bug was named after the dance because it gave a dancing fever to whomever it bit, the scene was removed because they felt it would become confused with a popular dance of the time and thus TIME the movie.  Removing it made it TIMELESS.

Since then, I've chosen to not do topical themes very often (as you'll also notice 'antique' telephones in the strips).

In this particular strip, by the way, the background is my uncleaned living room, haha.
