The Mid-South Cartoonists Association participated in "The Funny Pages" art show, which ran from November 2024 - January 2025 at the Germantown Community Theater, where Kevin Williams was in The Wizard of Oz in 1995 as Tin Man. In particular, "The Funny Pages" ran alongside the show "Annie Jr."
The opening reception found the incomparable Annie Freres performing with Muley the Mule to talk about comics history and characters' anniversaries - as 2024 represented 100 years of Little Orphan Annie - and how the comics are here to help folks get "fully dressed with a smile." In the art of the show was a "process" collection showing the sketches, script, pencils, and final page from "Muley's Comix and Stories: Eddie Bubba's Baby Brother." This shows the process of how a comics page is created. Also included was an acrylic cel painting of a comic strip "Smart Asp," and two Peanuts paintings.
